Joshua Fields (theminimalists.com) said when he started to be an minimalist he packed all of his possessions in boxes. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GgBpyNsS-jU Then every time he needs something, he put it out from the box. After a few month, he found out he needed just some things of what he had. This way would be pretty clear and easy to know what you need though it is not very reasonable way to do while you have your ordinary life. However, you can use this method to organize your laptop. On your laptop, you do not have any concrete things even if you have many things on it. This has a huge benefit when you organize it compared to when you organize something you have in real life because you do not need the space to keep them while you organize it. When you organize your wardrobe, you need to take out everything you have and they need space to be kept. It could be another stress if you do not finish organising quickly. When you start organising your laptop, you make folder to keep all the things you have at the moment then move everything to there. For example, if you organize your bookmark, you make a folder named 'to Marh 2017' or something like that, then you move all the book mark there. Then every time you want something from the folder, you move out the book make. After a couple of weeks, you will find what is enough for you. You ignore everything in the folder, just focus on the book marks which you take out of the folder. If there are many, you would make some folders to fit your new needs. In my opinion, the maximum folders would be ten or eleven. Otherwise, you need to scroll to see what you have or you can not remember what you have.
